When people think about a hospice, they might imagine it to be a somber setting. But at Margaret Bahen Hospice, there are moments of joy to be found in every day.
Sometimes that means staff sitting with residents and listening to their favourite music for hours. Other times, it means planning a birthday party or setting up an anniversary celebration.
This one-on-one interaction and emotional support is a big part of what makes Margaret Bahen Hospice such a special place. Hospice staff spend quality time with residents and their families, getting to know their stories, likes and dislikes, and hopes for their final chapter. One of the most beautiful things to see is when we get to help people create memories that will last forever for their loved ones – compiling a memory book, writing a letter or making hand moulds.
