From the desk of Janis K.

Though she was less than five feet tall, you couldn’t miss my little sister – Lisa was a dynamo. Her joy was contagious, her confidence inspiring, and her love for our family unquestionable. Losing her at only 58 years old was devastating.

My sister was sick for a long time, but nothing can really prepare you for the end of someone’s life. Thankfully, we had the gift of spending Lisa’s final days with her at Margaret Bahen Hospice. Being able to stay with Lisa 24 hours a day was a priceless gift, as we knew she would never have to be alone for even one minute during her final days.

I didn’t really know what to expect from a hospice, but I quickly learned that Margaret Bahen Hospice was special. The space was inviting, everybody was incredibly kind, and Lisa had what she needed to be comfortable. That gave us tremendous peace of mind.

Until we talked to the staff at Margaret Bahen Hospice, I had not idea how much the hospice relies on donor support. So many of the things that brought us comfort during Lisa’s final days were there because of supporters like YOU, and we are so deeply appreciative!

I hope you’ll consider making a donation to Margaret Bahen Hospice today so more families like ours can benefit from their personalized approach. Community is powerful and, together, we can give more people the gift of exceptional end-of-life care.
