GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea, a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. GivingTuesday will take place on Tuesday, December 2 and is the opening day of the giving season.
GivingTuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to come together to thank, help, give, show kindness, and share what they have with those in need.
This year, our GivingTuesday Campaign will be raising funds for our hospice kitchen at Margaret Bahen Hospice. Our residential hospice is unique because food is available not only for Residents but also for Families, so everyone has what they need while they are here. Food costs are significant in order to keep our hospice comfortable for Residents and their Families.
Since opening in 2017, more than 1476 Residents and over 4400 Family Members have been supported through our kitchen program. Food is fully funded by donations and is provided at no cost. The kitchen table is a place where Families can meet with Loved Ones and feel a small sense of normal during a very difficult time. Volunteers help run daily operations and play a key part in offering warm, home cooked meals.
DONATE NOW, and every gift will go directly toward keeping our hospice kitchen table full so Residents and their Families can continue to share comforting meals together.
We invite you to consider becoming a monthly donor to help provide the needed support for our hospice residents and their families all year round.
